Comments about Rubicon Express 2.5 Inch Standard Leaf Spring Lift Kit with Twin Tube Shocks:

The Rubicon Express 2.5" Suspension #RE2005 has been on my 1991 Jeep YJ for over 2.5 years and all is great. I have since removed the transfer case lowering kit and installed a SYE along with a front driveshaft from a Jeep XJ that has been shortened to use in the rear of the YJ with the SYE. The suspension hasn't settled anymore but does flex a lot more. I am still running 265/75R16 BF-Goodrich All-Terrains and with the front sway-bar disconnected the front tires will rub the fender under full compression. (with the sway bar connected there is plenty of clearance for the 32's)
I'm planning to either fab up some bump-stop relocation brackets for the front or downsize to a 245/75R16 tire. Another option is to run a highline front fender.
The rear is still good though I did use a heat gun many years ago to reshape the front edge of the rear factory flares to allow clearance for the 30x9.50R15 BFG Mud-Terrains at stock height.

I am very happy with this suspension.

Comments about Rubicon Express 2.5 Inch Standard Leaf Spring Lift Kit with Twin Tube Shocks:

The Rubicon Express 2.5" Standard Suspension System #RE5505 is a fairly complete kit but if you plan on using the supplied twin-tube rear shocks on your YJ's stock rear axle, you can expect contact between the shock tube and the axle tube when installed according to directions. Most people I have spoke with have had this issue and chose to install the shocks upside down to resolve it. I spoke with Rubicon Express and they said not to run the shocks upside down and sent me shock relocation brackets #RE2007 to resolve this issue. The install was fairly easy and takes one person 8 to 10 hours of actual work depending on weather, tools available, and location (garage/shop, driveway, dirt). This lift gives you around 3.5" of lift and after towing heavy trailers, offroad use, and daily driving, the lift has only settled about 1/4". The ride was stiff for the first couple hundred miles but now is very smooth on & offroad. There is an installation video on YouTube that will help an inexperienced installer.
