Comments about Power Trax Dana 30 27 Spline Lock Right Locker:

A couple of hour job actually turned into a couple of day job...only because of other axle bearings and seals that needed replacing. Highly recommend you go ahead and replace bearings/seals while you have the axles out. The lockers themselves were easy to install in my '82 CJ-5. Put them in the front axle (instead of rear) since the only time I'd use them is in 4wd. Did great in some tough rocky trails. Only 4 stars because I've only put them through one tough test so far. But so far, so good.

Comments about Power Trax Dana 30 27 Spline Lock Right Locker:

I have installed three of these now. Two in my own jeep dana 30 front dana 35 rear. This 2004 wrangler will go anywhere now. My jeep had the thin ring gear. Locker was installed inside the diff without removing the carrier.
My brothers jeep same 2004 dana had a thick ring gear I had to remove the carrier and install the locker on a work bench. Still installed in about 1HR. Note you can remove the carrier without moving the pinion there for no set up is required just re tork the carrier. I also noticed that a tube of Differential Friction Modifier helped on the harsh releases. I used Equa-Torque. from Sta-lube. great stuff.
