Comments about Rugged Ridge Cowl Body Armor:

The cowl protector looks great and is easy to install. Make sure that you check how you would like to line up the body armor on your Jeep before taking the tape off to install it. This will ensure that you get a clean line install. Once the tape is off, you only have one shot at installing correctly.

Comments about Rugged Ridge Cowl Body Armor:

If you use the black smittybilt window brackets these cowl guards fit poorly. Odd gaps between the window bracket and guard allow the body beneath to remain visible which looks cheap. These fit great with stock window brackets but since I wanted to use the black smittybilt bracket I decided not to use these afterall. Even after I spent some time with the dremmel tool sanding down the edges to attempt to get the guard to fit better to hide the gaps between the guard and window bracket. Disappointed this didn't fit well with the aftermarket smittybilt window bracket.

I would not recommend this unless you only use it with stock window brackets.

Comments about Rugged Ridge Cowl Body Armor:

The FIRST time I took off the doors of my JK, tragedy struck!! I took the door limiters off and pushed down on the door to stand back up. The nose of the Jeep was pointed down hill, AND the wind was blowing! I turned loose of the door, and it slowly swong around and the mirror bumped the cowl. I didnt think anything of it until a few days later. I came out of work and BAM! I saw the dent, and knew what happened. I just bought a new JK 1 day ago and I am ordering these to go on it to protect the cowl from me.
